The rules of engagement for the HomeGuard are simple and straight forward, in essence as long as you play with respect for other players, do not disrupt the game and respect the community members & admins you will be fine.
However, it is necessary for the sake of clarity to compile a list of some specific behaviour which is not acceptable and some unusual ones which are.
The following is NOT acceptable on the HomeGuard servers, from ANY player:
1. Hacks of ANY type; It goes without saying, if you can't play with your own skill-set, don't play at all.
2. Map exploits; If there is a way to take advantage of an error in a map, DON'T! Simple as that. This includes shooting through walls/doors on purpose!!
3. Sore losers (AKA Whining); If someone has shot you 50 times chances are they are just better at DOD:S you. Sorry. There it is. Yelling "OMFG HAX!! CAMPER NOOB" will just upset other players and get you kicked.
4. Abusive comments; either written or verbal (including names). Although this is open to interpretation, we define it as terms which are meant to cause offence or are inappropriate to a friendly gaming environment.
5. Racism or sexism; either written or verbal. There is no justification or necessity to use terms of racism or sexism on a Day of Defeat server. These will be defined, to an extent by the “victim” but also by an admin, if we feel you’re out of line, you will be told.
6. Bullying or victimisation; pick on a player and we’ll pick on you with a swift and lasting response.
7. Pornographic, offensive or indecent sprays; speaks for itself really. If you wouldn’t want your Mum seeing it, don’t put it up!
8. Blocking (either with furniture or by a player); obstructing play is not tactics, it’s irritating. And no, the designers did not leave it moveable so you could block with it. If you want to spend an hour playing with a sofa then interior design is the game for you, not DOD:S
9. Barrier jumping; The barriers are there for a reason and it’s not so you need two guys to get over them.
10. Voice command, chat or mic spamming; We’re here to play, not to listen to your music / love troubles / life story / “go, go, go” x100
11. Copying a name; if you copy the name of someone on the server OR a known player to the HG, you will be asked to change your own name, if you don’t we WILL kick you. Identity theft in the real world is a crime, this is pretty much the same and the fact that it is less damaging long terms does not make it any less invasive.
12. Specialist only; some classes such as MG, sniper and rocket, may have a maximum number per game. If you like playing them then fine, but don’t monopolize them round after round and if you have had the weapon for a while and someone else wants it then please give it up.
13. Strictly no Advertising of any sort unless it is something to do with our WebSite Address(Result Perm Ban)
14. If names are Offensive ore Inproper ww2 Names, will also be asked 2 remove it, if not listent. Kick ore even a little ban will be handeld. This includs a SS in name.
15. NO - Funiture Blocking, can result in a kick ore an little Tempban.
** Important Note**
Spawn-Shooting is NOT-Forbidden on |HG. If you get shot you will shoot them some later.
Although this is a detailed list it is not exhaustive and so may be updated from time to time.
